Today, my Pisces book, Teacher's Pet, is out!

You know, these astrology books would make good birthday gifts for those friends you have trouble figuring out what to buy. Just think, for under $5 you can give an interesting present that can be consumed immediately or leisurely and pertains to the birthday girl!

Tonight is opening night for a community production of EVITA that my son and I have been in rehearsal for three times a week since October. We're in the chorus, plus he's a dancer and an army dude.  It's so exciting to be on stage with my boy. I'm ALWAYS back stage for his shows over the past 13 years, stage managing, or stage crew, or ushering, or helping him dress...but now we're actors together and it's so fun.

Today I was also offered a small part in a horror movie shooting this summer. How cool is THAT?!

Yes, for some reason Feb 20 is being terrifically auspicious for me this year and it's not even my birthday! Although it may have supposed to have been my birthday since I was born a month early!

SEXSTROLOGY SERIES

What the heck is it?

This is a series about 12 women who belong to a coven in a fictional little town called Hermana, loosely based on Salem. Each woman represents a sign of the zodiac. Each book is based on a particular woman’s birthday month.

Each book is a stand-alone romantic/erotic adventure. You don’t need to read the other books to read any of the books, although characters pop in and out of each other’s books, just like in real life.

The connection with the books is the monthly circle, held at Lucy’s house, either on the full moon or new moon, depending on what plot devices I need to use.

For 2009, the monthly spell is a love activation spell, and combined with Ellie’s feng shui and Gwen’s astrological charts, the lucky lady of the month is certain to find love.

As an author who has always adored horror, science fiction, suspense, and mystery genres, the books have my own brand of intrigue. Some of the books could be considered a bit horror, others suspense, and others, straight out romance. These are books that dabble in metaphysical ideas. Each book is completely different from another. For example, my Sag woman sleeps with anything that moves while my Aquarian woman has to think about sex a lot before doing it.

I’ve never been shy to write about sex, so my lovely ladies are always ready to try almost anything, and some of them can be downright kinky.  Their appetites reflect the common perceptions of their sun signs.

My newest book in the Sexstrology series will be out on Friday February 20, 2009 and is called PISCES: TEACHER'S PET.

Mercury Retrograde January 21 to February 1, 2009.

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re in a Mercury Retrograde right this minute. For some of you, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride. For others, you’ll get a planetary power boost that sends you soaring above the rest of us who are stuck staring at virus ridden computers and broken down cars.

Mercury is the planet of communication. Most of the time, Mercury does his thing in the heavens quite nicely. But about three times a year, he does a little dance to shake us mortals up.

Check it out sometime. When Mercury goes retrograde, make a list of all the things that go wrong. See if there isn’t an unusual amount of annoying stuff going down.

What kind of stuff you ask?

Well, the first is actual communication. You may find you have a lot of misunderstanding with friends and family and especially, work. You will misplace important documents, forget to sign something or pay something, and that sort of thing.

Maybe the Presidential oath snafu was a result of Mercury going retrograde.

The next is computers. If your computer goes nuts, it’s often near or during Mercury retrograde. It just happened to me two years in a row. Last year, it was my hard drive, motherboard, etc. Just stopped working one day and I had deadlines so I went and got a refurbished computer that still is working nicely. (PLEASE don’t mock me, heavens!) This year, my monitor blew so off I went again.  

Technology in general may go haywire.

Cars break down. Transportation can be a nightmare.

Try not to sign any important documents during mercury retrograde as there may be problems later.

Mercury affects everyone differently because there are other factors at play. Your personal astrological chart will determine the impact on you.

In my SEXSTROLOGY series, each book tells a fresh, original story. You don’t need to read the other books to find out what is going on.

However, there are some common threads that link the books for those people that enjoy series.

The books all take place in a little town called Hermana. This is a witchy little town just outside of Boston, much like Salem, but not!

The 12 women in the 2008 -2009 series all meet for a “circle” at some point in each book. They cast love spells under the guidance of Lucy, a descendent of the witches that originally forged the town.

In the circle, a love spell is cast for the lady whose birthday falls in that month. To increase the power of the spell, the lady needs to have her astrological charts cast by Gwen the Gemini and her home feng shuied by Ellie the Cancer.

Anyone can increase his or her “love vibrations.” You can call it The Secret, wish-craft, witch-craft, whatever you like. I call it The Law of Attraction.

Whatever you put out into the world will come back to you three times over.

So it really behooves you to put out your best and happiest vibes whenever possible.

When it comes to love spells, I don’t believe in casting a spell on a particular person. This would take away his or her free will and when you consider the Law of Attraction, you really don’t need that kind of karma.

What you CAN do, is on a Friday night, the luckiest day for love spells, is light a pink candle and ask the universe for the giving and receiving of unconditional love.

The most important thing you need to have is an Open Heart and Open Mind. This means getting rid of preconceived notions of what you want and expect in a mate. It also doesn't mean that you have to go out with any loser that asks you out either. But, it does mean being Open Minded and not too quick to judge those that are different from you. As an Aquarius, this was very hard for me to do after my first marriage died, but I eventually worked through my lists and judgements and able to open up my heart and mind to men that are good and kind and not necessarily the "type" of guy I had always seen for myself. I married a man that I would never have dated when I still had my "list."

You can wear a small piece of rose quartz in your bra or pocket to attract love vibrations.

Clear the clutter out of your “love corner” which is the southwest corner and fill it with pictures of happy couples, a pair of mandarin ducks and a pair of pink candles.

Remove scary photos and paintings from your bedroom.

Cover up your mirror if it is at the foot of your bed.

Try not to have a TV in the bedroom, although I have to admit, I can’t do it myself. Between husbands, I covered it up when I wasn’t watching it, hoping to activate my auspicious energy. Obviously it worked, as I just got married in May 2008.

Real plants in your bedroom aren’t a good idea when you’re in a romance rut. Get them out and put them in the money corner (southeast) of your living room.

I'm finishing up the PISCES book, "Teacher's Pet" today. I must say, it's been absolutely thrilling writing monthly zodiac erotic romance books and daily horoscope columns for Ravenous Romance. You'll note other authors discussing time and schedules and such, and it seems to me that many Ravenous authors are "do-bees" and "over-achievers."

We all seem to have day jobs, families, and the overwhelming obsession to write.

This is good for you, dear reader, as your will never have to worry about a lull in new stories coming your way.

I have lots to talk about, but first, I must return to my last chance editing and get this book delivered so that you may read about Adele and Devin's adventures through a painting in February!
