Happy 2009 to all of our wonderful readers.  I'd like to thank you all personally for making the RR launch a big success.

I've had several short stories published since the launch and several more that will be released soon.  I've been told that my stories are a little on the wild side, possibly extreme in a few cases, but I hope you have as much fun reading them as I did writing them.

Some of the best writing advice I've ever received is "write what you know."  So while I aim to write stories that others will enjoy, there is always something in the story that is near and dear to my heart.

Case in point, my story "How You Play The Game" from the Men In Shorts anthology is as much about my love affair with the game of softball as it is about what's happening in the war between two fierce competitors on and off the field.

When I'm not writing, I'm reading.  I read across the genres but seem to gravitate toward crime/detective stories more often than not.

I'm interested in learning more about fetishes and how people come by their kinks.  If there is a theme that you'd like to see explored, I'd like to know.  Perhaps your suggestion will wind up making its way into a future story here at RR.

I'm also interested in hearing your thoughts about my stories.  If you have any comments that you'd care to share, feel free to post them here or send me an e-mail.

Hi! The blog is a great idea and wonderful way for the readers to get to know your authors.

Question maybe you can answer here or address in a future blog post : Anyone listened to one of your audio books ? How is the quality and any comments? What is the average playing time of your audio books and are they read by professionals? Some may be dumb questions but I'm the queen of dumb questions so get used to it LOL.

I'm not sure what the average playing time of the audio books are. I've heard snippets of a couple of them and have been meaning to download one to check it out myself. The snippets I've heard have been just as good quality wise as any other audio book I've listened to. Hopefully someone else will post about this right away. Otherwise, I will download something and give a report on it. The only question that's dumb is the one you don't ask...LOL!

Thanks Brandi! There are snippets? I obviously haven't explored the site enough. My opinion of questions is the same as yours but in internet land if you ask the wrong question you can get shredded so badly you run home to mommy sobbing if your skin isn't thick enough lol.

Some of the titles have a Listen to Excerpt button on the product detail page. For example, Men In Shorts, has one. If you go to that page, you should be able to click on the button and listen there. Hope that helps.

Brandi, you haven't listened to your own story in the anthology yet? You have to! I listened to the excerpt and am pleasantly surprised. The narrator, Celeste? has a great voice and from what I heard reads with good inflection. I suggest your narrator's names be added to the book spec page as well. I'm like a lot of audio listeners, once I find a narrator I like I will look for her/him in future purchases.

One other thing I'm not seeing here is the page count of the books. I think that is something that needs to be added to the book spec pages.


I hope it's ok to address these things. They most certainly aren't criticisms just observations.

Rebyj - I will pass your comments along to the people who are in charge of updating the site. I can see how knowing who the narrator is would be a plus. I am listed as an author for the various anthologies that I have stories in (under the anthology's detail page) but it would be helpful to fans if all the publications where on the individual author page as well, so I will point that out, too.

We the site to be as user friendly as possible, so I am glad that you have taken the time to give your feedback.

Inara - I only have one story in the Men In Shorts anthology, just wanted you to go in knowing what to expect. I write mostly short fiction. Not to say there won't ever be a novel...I just haven't been bitten by the idea bug for something that long yet

Even short stories take a lot of work! I see there are 13 authors that contributed to the Men in Shorts anthology. That's a lot . This is where page count would come in handy . If it's a 13 story anthology and 26 pages is one thing, if it's an anthology and 300 pages that's something else. So page count is something consumers look for. I'm sure the idea bug will hit you eventually. If you get a lot of feedback for one of your short stories , you'll see the direction a full length story should take and you'll be whipping out a full length novel in no time! I've got me a listObooks to buy on payday and I sent the email for the 5 dollar gift certificate mentioned on twitter.com so I'm all set to give RR and your writing a try. Thanks

Thanks, Rebyj. If I'm remembering correctly most of the works on the site are about 200 pages long (whether an anthology or novel.) The Ravenous Rendezvous short stories are between 10 and 20 pages long. I'm glad to hear that you'll be giving us a try. I hope you'll like what you see/hear and will be back for more.
