Two New Reviews!
2009.04.29 01:45:36

Phoebe Jordan of Talk About My Favorite Authors just released reviews for the first two books in my The Darkness and the Night series, giving Blood and Coffee 3.5 Open Books and Cosmic Orgasm 4 Open Books.  My thanks to Phoebe, who delved into horrorica--not her genre of choice--on a chance, after reading and enjoying my romantic, erotic sci-fi novel, Lust in Space.  I think these reviews are very fair and accurate, and I am happy to share them now with you.

From Phoebe's review for Blood and Coffee:

I had a good time reading this novel because it was different from many of the novels that I usually read. I both liked and disliked Karen because even though she is a strong female character there are times that I really thought she could have done things differently if she wanted to. This also goes the same for Billy the vampire who turns Karen because seems like a nice loving guy but then he shows his true colors as a psyhco. There were some very steamy sex scenes between Karen and Billy that I really enjoyed because they have this attraction to one another even though at first Karen hates Billy for turning her. I also felt kind of creeped out when I read some the scary suspense scenes throughout the novel and I should expect that since it is a dark horror erotic novel with vampires. I enjoyed reading the novel though sometimes I wondered who was good and who was evil throughout the novel because sometimes Karen seemed like she was headed towards being evil while somtimes Billy was headed towards actually being good. Towards the end of the novel I was really looking forward to reading the next The Darkness & the Night series to find out what else is in store for Karen and Billy after the way this novel ended. I give this book 3.5 Open Books

From Phoebe's review for Cosmic Orgasm:

This book is much more exciting and scarier than the first book because now I have a sense of who is evil and who isn't unlike the first book. I like Karen more in this novel because she has come to accept that she is a vampire and doesn't have to kill a human in order to survive. There were some pretty scary and heartbreaking scenes in this book that I enjoyed reading about because it really helped me understand Karen and even Billy more than I did before. I finished the book much quicker than the first and by the time I read the last sentence in the last chapter I really wanted Lisa Lane's next and conclusion to her The Darkness & the Night series to be published already so I could read it. I give this book 4 Open Books

SEXSTROLOGY SERIES

SEXSTROLOGY SERIES

What the heck is it?

This is a series about 12 women who belong to a coven in a fictional little town called Hermana, loosely based on Salem. Each woman represents a sign of the zodiac. Each book is based on a particular woman’s birthday month.

Each book is a stand-alone romantic/erotic adventure. You don’t need to read the other books to read any of the books, although characters pop in and out of each other’s books, just like in real life.

The connection with the books is the monthly circle, held at Lucy’s house, either on the full moon or new moon, depending on what plot devices I need to use.

For 2009, the monthly spell is a love activation spell, and combined with Ellie’s feng shui and Gwen’s astrological charts, the lucky lady of the month is certain to find love.

As an author who has always adored horror, science fiction, suspense, and mystery genres, the books have my own brand of intrigue. Some of the books could be considered a bit horror, others suspense, and others, straight out romance. These are books that dabble in metaphysical ideas. Each book is completely different from another. For example, my Sag woman sleeps with anything that moves while my Aquarian woman has to think about sex a lot before doing it.

I’ve never been shy to write about sex, so my lovely ladies are always ready to try almost anything, and some of them can be downright kinky.  Their appetites reflect the common perceptions of their sun signs.

My newest book in the Sexstrology series will be out on Friday February 20, 2009 and is called PISCES: TEACHER'S PET.

Other books already out include:

Sagittarius: Open Heart, Open Mind

A nympho Sag tarot reader falls in love with a Virgo welder who has a terrifying secret.

Capricorn: Cursed

A Capricorn vampire medium who loves to play her violin is intrigued by a mysterious Gemini she met on New Year's Eve.

Aquarius: Haunted Heart

An Aquarian journalist/ghost hunter finds love with a Scorpio surferboy/ghost hunter in a haunted asylum.

Pisces: Teacher's Pet

A Piscean lingerie store owner, aura reader and art teacher is smitten by her hot student's obvious talents in the bedroom and out.

Coming Soon:

Aries: Swinging into Spring

An Aries palm reader searches for the ultimate sexual pleasure with a broken hearted Aquarius.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into the town of Hermana and the lovely ladies who hang out there.

Blessed Be,

Sephera

Tuning In to the Turning On
2009.01.26 21:33:44

How does an author write erotic fiction? Or more specifically, how does a writer create effective sex scenes in erotic fiction?

The key is to tune in to what turns you on. Granted, our inner desires are intimate and personal and often quite private. Some even startle ourselves! But if a writer wants to create steamy scenes that will ignite the fires in his or her readers, then the writer has to be willing to explore and then put on paper those intimate, personal, private passions. The writer has to be willing to lay it on all the line, to allow his/her imagination to experience all these things and then share them. I've heard tell writers should never write as if their mothers are watching over their shoulders. Excellent advice, especially for writers of erotica. Let it all hang out! If this isn't the case, then the scenes will read flat, uninspired, and unrealisic.

Years ago, the book My Secret Garden made a big splash. It as a nonfiction collection of women's private sexual fantasies. Talk about steamy! Those interviewed held nothing back, and it made it very clear that there is a huge variety in what gets our minds and bodies a-throbbin'! There are some fantasties that do nothing for me. Others get me hot immediately. The ones that get me hot are the ones I'll include in my fiction. I'll be the first to admit that I enjoy watching others make love (there's a lot of that in my Ravenous Romance novel Haunted Seduction). I especially am turned on by two men enjoying each other's bodies (see my short story in Merry Sex-mas). I love the idea of powerful, brooding men who have in some way become vulnerable and need to be tended...until they're strong enough to rise up and turn the tables in a very big way (such as what happens in my Ravenous Romance novel Man of the Shadows). I love the idea of sex outdoors (soon to come in my next RR novel, Mad Mistress of the Mountain). Hey, humans are all part of nature, aren't we? And there are other hot situations that get me going.

And you can trust me to be honest enough to share them with you in my fiction.

Love,
Morgan
